As soon as the private investigator read the letter from the mayor of Port Providence, it was clear to her that this case was going to be very special. In fact, the mayor asked her to investigate a ship that had been lost at sea a month ago and had recently been found offshore without a single sign of its cargo or crew.

Even after examining all the clues, however, the investigator has no idea what happened on the ship. But she suspects there's something more behind the whole case that the mayor has kept from her. The newspapers are talking about a curse. And after she encounters a dark figure with a hook on the abandoned ship, she gradually comes to believe it too.
