WinFIR

WinFIR is a program for designing finite impulse response (FIR) filters. These filters are characterized by having a finite number of coefficients, which is an advantage over infinite impulse response (IIR) filters because they are easier to implement and have better stability.

WinFIR provides the user with a number of tools for designing FIR filters, including:

- A tool for specifying filter frequency response requirements.

- A tool for specifying filter time response requirements.

- A tool for calculating filter coefficients.

- A tool for visualizing the frequency and time response of the filter.

The calculation of filter coefficients is based on the classic Parks-McClellan algorithm. This algorithm is known for its accuracy and efficiency.

The maximum number of filter coefficients that WinFIR can process is 4095. This value is sufficient for the design of most FIR filters that are used in practice.
