TimeSort

TimeSort is a freeware application for Windows platform (tested on XP and 7). The application solves a common user problem, namely the need to catalog a file into a directory structure according to the date the file was created or modified. TimeSort works as follows:

• 1. Select the directory to catalog using the Source button or type the directory path in the box.
• 2. Select the directory to save the catalog using the Destination button or type the directory path in the box.
• 3. Select the criteria for cataloging files (by modification date/time or by creation date/time) and select the type of catalog directory tree (Monthly only or Daily only).
• 4.Press the Proceed button and TimeSort will create a catalog according to the specified parameters by year/month/day, where each file from Source will be stored in the appropriate directory and subdirectory. If there are multiple files with the same name, then Timesort will add a suffix consisting of the modification time and the time the catalog was created (e.g. TimeSort20091103212121/2001/09/01 )
• 5.TimeSort creates copies of files, which can be a time-consuming process. The Stop button can be used to end the process early.
