Bághčal

An age-old board game, played in various modifications and variations. Known as Tigers and Goats in the Czech Republic, Foxes and Geese in England, Lions and Antelopes in Africa. It was also played by the Indians, featuring coyotes and chickens. In the Indian version, goats are represented by blue stones (white), tigers by red stones (black).

At the beginning of the game, the tigers are on the board in the corners. The player must first place all 20 stones (goats) on the board and only then is given the option to move the stones. If there is an empty space behind a goat, the tiger can jump over it (as in checkers) and eat it. After placing 20 goats on the board (some of which he will probably eat while placing them), you can select a goat and move it around the board in the direction allowed by the marked diagonals. The game ends with the tigers winning if they eat at least 5 goats (beyond that, there is no chance of the goats winning). A player wins for the goats if he manages to block all 4 tigers so that they cannot move. Version A is the classic Indian variant. Version B is a variant where stone moves are allowed in all directions.
