Instead of classic pieces, dice are used, which have a king, general, rook, bishop, knight and pawn symbol on each side. The current value of the die is determined by the symbol on the top face.

The main credo of CubicShogi is simplification without radical changes while maintaining good gameplay. The asset is quality artificial intelligence that is at least on par with shogi software. The ability to stone and undo moves is a given.
