Perl is an interpreted programming language created by Larry Wall in 1987. With the development of the Internet, Perl has become a very popular tool for creating CGI scripts. ActivePerl is developed by ActiveState Software Inc. and, unlike StrawberyPerl, it does not come with all packages pre-installed in the base, but it does include a PPM (Perl Package Manager) where you can also use the graphical interface (look for PPM in the Start menu) to install the necessary packages to keep your project running like clockwork.
