Verify

Verify is a tool for periodically verifying the integrity of files on disk. It does this by generating an additional file for a given list of files, called a hashlist, which lists the existing files and then a hash (unique fingerprint) of the contents and some other information for each file. Integrity checking then consists of recomputing the hash for each file and comparing it to the stored value - the characteristics of the fingerprint function should ensure that it is almost impossible for two files with different contents to have the same fingerprint.
