Velom

Velom is an alternative to the desktop. Instead of a nested folder hierarchy like in Windows, you can place files side by side on the whiteboard. You can specify the exact arrangement. There is no grid limiting the files. The "Velom" concept has another key feature, the interface is zoomable, so you can zoom in on an item on the board if you are interested in detail. Or zoom out if you want to get an overview. The scale is divided into meaningful zoom levels. You can zoom from the preview, through the metadata view, to a detailed scale where you can directly play videos and music.
