UTF-8 converter

The boss has decided to open the company website to the world and that the files on the server will be converted to UTF-8 encoding and he has entrusted this task to you. You swallow blankly at the thought of thousands of files in various folders, but prefer to just repeat the command because his facial expression bears a striking resemblance to Hannibal Lecter from Silence of the Lambs. All is not lost, however. You can try this utility to convert files to UTF-8 encoding. Back up your files first.

Installation:

• using the self-installation package
• option to create a desktop icon
• option to create a folder in the "Programs" menu
• the program allows to install .NET Framework 2.0
• .NET Framework 2.0 if you don't have it on your PC, you can download it from this server and install it before installing the program - recommended
• the program does not create registry keys - suitable for USB drives

How to use the program:

After opening the program, double-click on its icon:

• first, make a backup of all the files or the entire folder in which the files to be converted are located and test the program on just one file to learn how to work with it
• in the top editor we enter the file addresses and on each new line a new full path to the file we want to convert - we can get them for example from Total Commander and Ctrl + B in the folder will list its entire contents and then from the menu Mark select the names including paths to copy to clipboard select the marked files and then in the top editor paste these addresses using Ctrl + V
• then you can press the OK button, but again make sure you have backed up the files
• in the lower editor you will see the progress of the action
• then open the file, for example in PSPad, and check the new encoding in the status bar

Uninstallation:

• the installer creates an exe file that, when run, uninstalls the program
