USBSync

The USBSync program is used to synchronize selected directories or files from the source directory to the destination directory (default setting) or copy the newer file each time.

Sync can be started manually or automatically:

• after starting the program
• after inserting the USB drive
• after changing files

All file operations are logged and displayed directly in the program window, or can be automatically saved to files with a unique name.
The Job Log is reserved for synchronizing entire jobs and individual directories, and automatic operations are logged to the Watched Directory Log, which is much more comprehensive.

For an overview of the program's workflow, there is a so-called pie chart informing about the currently available and used space on the target media, as well as a chart with an overview of the data writing speed.

The status of the source directories can be compared against the target directories in the implemented tool, which displays the differences, including file counts.
A second tool will summarize information about the current disk utilization, which will graphically display the individual files/directories, including the percentage utilization.

Files to sync can be filtered out in the settings using filters:

• files to be synchronized
• files that should not be synchronized
• directories to be synchronized
• directories not to be synchronized
• by size (minimum, maximum, exact)
• by attributes (archive, read-only, hidden, system)

Alternatively, you can define actions before and after the synchronization is started, e.g. to take care of "cleaning the files" using an external program or script, batch...

To maintain an accurate image of the source directory, a 1:1 copy can be used, which after the synchronization is executed deletes the file that resides in the target directory, copies it to the source directory, or writes the information to the log.
