The story of the game is set in an alternate world where the Nazis won World War II thanks to their successful nuclear program and the Allies had to sign a peace treaty with them. Exactly 6 years after the signing of the treaty and the end of the war, the player finds himself in the shoes of Karl Stolz - a young member of the Night Front resistance organization who has been kidnapped by the Nazis and subjected to strange medical procedures in a mental hospital. When, with the help of a doctor, he manages to escape and return to the Resistance headquarters, he slowly begins to suspect that something is wrong with him.
