Traffic City

Game Goal:
It's 1990 and your task is to build a stable public transport network in the city centre of EcoCity by 2010, where many investors are arriving. The city has entrusted you to take care of the quality transport infrastructure.

Game flow:

• Each year you find out through a briefing what new things have happened in the city and how the traffic demands on the available routes have changed.
• You need to look after the fleet. You can buy and sell up to 20 vehicles (buses, trolleybuses and, of course, articulated versions) over those 20 years.
• Each new car must be assigned to the line it is to run on.
• Then comes the timetable modification, which (as I announced above) I consider to be the main draw of the game. You find out how many connections you can make in an hour at most (depending on the number of cars on the line and the number of minutes the car is able to return), you start adjusting the timetable and try to make it as accurate as possible (you follow the clues from the briefing and the map - for example, each line has a peak at different hours). You then start the day and start evaluating the success of your timetable.
• You will then see the briefing for the next year, as well as statistics from the previous year to see how you did overall. Costs include consumption (when cars are wasted, this will inevitably get ugly), salaries for inspectors, drivers and staff, and regular car maintenance costs something too. The revenue includes fares, advertising (dependent on your company's reputation) and subsidies from the city.
