TextBAG

You can play text games that have been created just for this application. The text message can be stored in a single file (TBG) or in several files (XML). Instructions on how to create your own game can also be downloaded from this page.

For game creators, a simple "debugger" (you cannot debug TBG games) is implemented in the application to help you debug your game. During gameplay, a special (debug) window will list the variables that have been changed by the action performed, and the values of these variables can be changed.

Another aid is to reload the game file without losing the actions performed. So if you change a value in one of the XML files, you can reload the changed XML files without having to turn the game off and on.

For debugging, applications must be run with the "-debug" parameter : TextBAG.exe -debug

Next, it is checked if the game contains all the necessary files (more about files in the tutorial on how to write games). The check is done when the game is selected, and if a file is found to not exist, the game is not allowed to be loaded. This check takes place even without debugging enabled. Additionally, when the debugger is turned on, this check is included in the REALOAD of the game and if a file does not exist, no reload is allowed.
