Sherlock Holmes vs. Jack the Ripper is the fifth installment of the highly successful detective game from French developer Frogwares. Once again we have a quality adventure on the scene that brilliantly blends reality with fiction. The detective Sherlock Holmes, created by Scottish writer Sir Arthur Conan Doyle more than a century ago, together with his faithful friend Dr. Watson, go on the hunt once again. The trio of highly cunning detectives are rounded off by Scotland Yard's official investigator on the case, Inspector Lestrade.

The play is set in Victorian England, the British Empire at its height, yet it was also home to countless homeless, prostitutes and alcoholics. The name of this exact place is Whitechapel in London's East End. It was here in 1888 that serial killer Jack the Ripper went on the rampage. Sherlock Holmes must investigate who is behind the murders.

Do you know Jack? No? Jack the Ripper or Jack the Ripper was a London serial killer on the rampage in the late nineteenth century, mostly in the London slum of Whitechapel. He was responsible for the deaths of several street prostitutes, whom he first strangled, mutilated and then removed some of their bodily organs. The London police never managed to catch the killer. So will Sherlock Holmes stop the brutal psychopath's rampage?
