RootkitRevealer is an advanced utility for rootkit detection. It scans the registry and checks system API files for irregularities and can indicate the presence of user-mode or kernel-mode rootkits.

RootkitRevealer successfully detects many persistent rootkits, including AFX, Vanquish and HackerDefender (note: RootkitRevealer is not designed to detect rootkits like Fu, which does not attempt to hide its files or registry keys).
