The DeskTop application is an off-line version of the publication in Microsoft? HTMLHelp for use on standalone computers and mobile devices or on computer networks running Windows? via the LocalNet app. It supports installation for standalone (local) computers and network servers.

The LocalNet application is a client installation of a workstation connection to a network server and is part of the server installation of DeskTop. It allows DeskTop to be used with the installed access interface and InfoTech protocol on computer networks running Windows? (data is installed and updated only on the network server and end users use the application over a network connection).

The InterNet application is an online version of the publication that allows individual pages to be loaded into the offline version if an Internet connection is available. The application is continuously updated whenever content changes (more frequently than the off-line version), so it conveys the latest changes in virtually real time.
