Karto

This allows you to calibrate a scanned map (or aerial imagery) with some known geographic points (Lambert, UTM, ...).
This means you can link a scanned map to an existing map, such as a national topographic map. After calibration, you can add other points, such as GPS points, to create your own map. You can also add a transparent GIF image to the map after calibration.

Here are the steps to calibrate a map in Karto:

1. Import the scanned map into Karto.

2. Select a known geopoint on the map.

3. Click the "Calibrate" button.

4. Karto automatically calibrates the map.

5. Add additional waypoints (GPS points) to create your own map.

6. Add a transparent GIF image to the map.
