OpenOffice

OpenOffice.org is a full-featured office suite that can run on all major operating systems and platforms. It includes text editor Writer, table processor Calc, drawing tool Draw and presentation maker Impress. The refinement includes an installer, a complete user interface (dialogs, menus, tool tips, etc.) including help, spell checkers, word splitting and a synonym dictionary.

Version 4.0:
There are a large number of changes, the most visible being the new project logo and also a sidebar with contextual features.

The Apache Software Foundation has released version 4.0.1 of the Apache OpenOffice office suite. This is a patched version, so it mainly contains fixes for various bugs, such as sidebar switching, exporting to HTML, formatting truth values, and working with the clipboard when transferring raster images.

But translations have also been added for nine new languages, including Polish, Swedish and Vietnamese, for example. Additional translations ? including Czech ? have been improved/updated. The new version also saves significantly faster to XLS format (more than 230% faster).

The programs are in Czech/Slovak, but after installation they do not include up-to-date dictionaries for checking typos etc. You can install the latest versions of dictionaries additionally as extensions. See product page.
