The application allows you to find the current position, display the position in a raster map, navigate to points with specified coordinates, import points and record the route to a file for later processing.
To use the GPS module, the phone needs to support API functions that allow the Java application to communicate with the GPS in the form of a Nmea 0183 data stream. In the case of a Bluetooth GPS module, the phone must include not only the hardware (BT chip) but also the JSR 82 Bluetooth API library. Unfortunately, some phones (e.g. Siemens S55) do not contain this library and no Java application can use Bluetooth. The situation is similar when connecting a GPS to the phone using a serial cable. It is not enough to physically connect the devices, but the phone must allow the application to access the serial port (works on Siemens x65 phones). Some new phones include an integrated GPS (Siemens SXG75 or Nokia N95) and use the JSR 179 library instead of the Nmea 0183 protocol for communication. This method of communication is not yet supported in the application.
