Gammu

Gammu is a command line program and library for working with many brands of mobile phones. Support for different phones varies, but the basic functions should work with most phones. The program can work with contacts, messages (SMS, EMS and MMS), calendar, tasks, files, built-in radio, camera, etc. It can also be run as a daemon to receive and send SMS.

Gammu now includes a Python module that allows you to easily write the functionality you want using the basic functions.
