Host

Host is a Windows command-line application. This utility allows you to transfer a FreeBSD host tool. Host searches for information about Internet hosts. This information is obtained from a set of interconnected servers that are scattered around the world. By default, it easily converts between host names and IP addresses. However, with the [d] or [-a] option, it can be used to find all information about a given host that is managed by a domain server (A, MX, NS records, TTL). The arguments can be either hostnames or host numbers. The program first attempts to interpret them as host numbers. If it fails, it will treat them as hostnames. A host consists of an IPv4 in decimal (127.0.0.1). The hostname consists of names separated by periods, e.g. www.itsamples.com.
