In FIFA 08, you'll get more into the action than ever before by mastering the skills of a true professional player.

In a new game mode called "Be a pro", you take on the persona of a single player and your job is to master the same disciplines that real footballers face - finding space and defending correctly, starting with reading the play and passing. Step onto the pitch with a custom player, play the entire game with him and turn him into an elite footballer over the course of the season. This game concept of improving one skill at a time, just like professional footballers, is a brand new concept. Play with up to three other friends with custom created players for your favourite club, complete individual challenges and win trophies for your team. Meanwhile, you and your friends can compete to see who can best train their player by the end of the season.

From the first moment you step onto the pitch, FIFA 08's absolute control of all your activities will force you to react like a real footballer. The new manual controls allow you to dictate the way you play with perpendicular passes and centres. You'll be able to take control of the goalkeeper yourself and pick out the attacker in one-on-one situations. You'll also gain complete control over your defenders, which can be quickly switched with the right stick to select the most advantageous player. To overcome your opponent's defences, you need to choose a much more strategic approach than in the past, mainly thanks to the new defensive and positional logic that guarantees players are in the right place at the right time, while constantly assessing dangerous situations and opportunities.
