FIFA Manager 12 has seen improvements in virtually every area. Major expansions and additions include a 3D mode, finance and transfer models and a calendar. The changes to the 3D mode ensure a much more realistic gameplay experience, incorporating new logic and player AI; the options for setting tactics, substitutions and the actions of opposing coaches are also better. A new intuitive user interface allows you to get relevant information on the current match action within seconds and issue precise tactical instructions.

The finance element of the game is now much more authentic. A club's income is affected by successes and failures on the pitch and is graded according to the economic power of the jersey sponsor. In terms of transfers, players can deploy footballers in test sessions and preparatory matches. They can also commission detailed analyses of the team and find its weaknesses more easily. The calendar now includes a number of new options such as charity galas or direct enquiries for friendly matches. In addition, training sessions can again be planned and organised on a daily basis.

FIFA Manager 12 also includes a number of improvements to the online modes, with all of the premium features from last year's edition now available to everyone. Specifically, the improvements include a better avatar editor, the ability to create fantasy leagues and a wide range of new statistics.
