A healthy person blinks 10 to 15 times a minute. Daily computer use often reduces the frequency of blinking and can lead to dry eyes, pain, burning, red eyes or blurred vision. These are all symptoms of dry eye syndrome. Using a camera, Eyeblink measures the user's blinking frequency and "trains" them to blink more when needed.

Each blink renews the tear film that protects and moisturizes the eye. An interactive notification pops up from the top right corner of the desktop, only when the blink frequency is low. It disappears immediately after the next blink. One cause of low frequency is excessive screen brightness, especially in the evening. The program uses a camera to measure the lighting in the room, which allows it to automatically adjust the optimal screen brightness that is comfortable to the eyes.
