EXCELLINK

The Excellink application allows linking AutoCAD blocks with data in an Excel spreadsheet.
In addition to exporting and importing data, live automatic linking of data between AutoCAD is possible
and Excel. This linking is maintained even between AutoCAD sessions. Changing a given table
in Excel (even as the result of an Excel calculation function) is reflected by a change in the value of
attribute (or geometric property) in the drawing.
This functionality can be used for automatic creation of BOMs (the resulting XLS table
can be inserted back into the drawing as an OLE object), calculating some data in blocks
drawing (e.g. construction bubbles) using Excel functions, or for transferring data
from one block to another. More advanced functions are also possible, where you can calculate
in Excel to influence the geometric properties of a block - X/Y/Z scale, position, rotation,
level. For example, if you are using blocks as a representation of geodetic points, you can set
automatically set the Z-coordinate of these points according to their "HEIGHT" text attribute.

Excellink is available in versions for AutoCAD 2000, 2000i, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 (plus derivative applications) and for AutoCAD LT 2000/2000i,2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006. This popular application is now used in 48 countries around the world.
