Archiver

ARCHIVER is designed for all PC users who own multiple floppy disks, HD, CD, DVD, ZIP or other media and want to manage this archive efficiently and easily, preferring a two-panel system to the windows explorer interface.

ARCHIVER allows you to retrieve the contents of media and then perform a number of functions without their physical presence. Mainly FIND, SEARCH, COMPARE and DUPLICITY. On physically available media, it still supports the functions of a regular file manager. All functions (with a few exceptions) work transparently with the contents of ZIP/ARJ/RAR files, including their directory structure.

FIND - allows you to very quickly find the desired files anywhere (even inside compressed files) in an archive or on a physical disk. The file search can be performed in any part of the directory tree or on one or more archives with the possibility to search not only by file mask, but also by file size, date and comment (each file in the archive can be accompanied by a comment; the comment can also be read automatically e.g. from FILEID.DIZ or DIRINFO files etc.). The search results are clearly displayed and can be transferred to the panel and further operations can be performed on the list (e.g. copy, delete for physical media).
SEARCH - allows you to find out whether the files in the set directory are already stored in the selected part of the archive or on another media. The basic condition for searching is a matching file name, as additional conditions it is possible to select the size, date and attributes of the file. It is also possible to check files for binary match (32b CRC is used).
COMPARE - allows to find out the differences between two directory trees. The basic condition for the search is a matching filename, as additional conditions it is possible to select the size,date and attributes of the file. It is also possible to check files for binary match using 32b CRC. For example, if you read the contents of a disk and compare it with the current state after a certain period of time, you will get a very quick overview of all the changes made. This makes it very easy to find out all the changes on the disk after installing an application. You can use this function very well for checking the CDR write (binary comparison of the CD content with the HDD pattern saves a lot of time, especially for a large number of copies).
DUPLICITY - allows you to search for duplicate files in the selected media set according to the specified criteria. For example, if you load the contents of a network drive with users' home directories, you will find out in a moment how many times and where you can find, for example, pkzip.exe, arj.exe, etc.

FREEWARE - the archiver.key file is not available - you can freely download, use and redistribute this version for free (as long as all files are redistributed and without any modifications). Working with the contents of compressed ZIP/ARJ/RAR files is not available in freeware mode, all other functions are identical to the registered version. If you intend to use Archiver more often we recommend you to register the program. This will support its further development. You will then be able to work with the contents of compressed files on real media as well as in the archive and use additional utilities (see the utilities tab for more information).
