Syntan Snowdrop

It allows you to perform calculations with even relatively complex mathematical functions (represented by symbols) as if they were simple numbers.
But my intention was not to create some other monumental mathematical program. Instead, I wanted to create something with human dimensions, something useful for students solving homework problems or for engineers who want to get a quick idea of some dependencies.

That's why I chose a single-character naming convention for the symbols. While this limits the number of symbols to 26, it is plenty sufficient for the above needs, and keeps everything simple and transparent. In addition to the editor, which serves as its own calculator, the application also has a symbol list in which mathematical expressions written in the editor can be assigned to individual symbols. So Syntan is first and foremost a calculator, but not only!

Because it is said that a picture is worth a thousand words, Syntan is equipped with a very practical graph in which up to three functions can be displayed simultaneously.

Syntan also offers an overview of the instantaneous values of all symbols, handles derivatives and polynomials, and has many other options, all live and in motion if you so desire. And everything looks nice, is simple and easy to use.


What you need to use Syntan:

• Hardware: PC 400MHz or faster, 64MB RAM or more
• Software: Windows 95 or later

If you want to install a simplified version, you must select Custom and uncheck English during installation. If you perform a typical installation, Syntan is in the English version, but in the CZ folder there are Czech files for the teacher (.tut) and the Czech version of the Translation.txt file (if you replace the same file in the Syntan root folder with this file, it will be translated).
