STOPKY - ussoft

A device for measuring the time characteristics of certain (e.g. sports) performances with selected accuracy. A distinction is made between mech stopwatches, and electronic (analogue or digital) stopwatches with different divisions of time (to 10-1, 100-1, 10,000-1). Stopwatches in synchronisation allow several intermediate and final times to be continuously subtracted. When used as a basic means of measuring speed in sport, stopwatches are started manually with individual error, by intersecting a light beam or by a high-precision detection method.
