Secure File Access

Secure File Access allows Admins to encrypt selected data and restrict access to a list of users identified by USB flash drives. To access sensitive data, the SFA User initiates a so-called quarantine session after connecting in a valid USB flash drive and running the SFA User Application. In a quarantine session, data is decrypted in flight for all applications or, alternatively, only for a set of trusted programs; arbitrary data output based on protected files is automatically encrypted:

All copies of protected files created, for example, after a Save As ... operation, are encrypted

All new files created in the quarantined application are encrypted

All temporary files created, for example in MS Office applications, are encrypted

All clipboard copy operations from protected files are encrypted

All protected files moved, emailed or uploaded to FTP remain encrypted

User can optionally be allowed to edit protected files, while read-only mode is the default. SFA Administrator can Unlock selected data, a pre-configured USB flash drive administrator is used to authorize this operation.
