Birth Number and ID Number provides the user with information regarding the validity of the birth number and ID number by calculating a checksum and a number of sub-checks that it hides under the guise of a simple user interface.

As expected, the application will provide the user with information on the validity of the birth number, gender and date of birth information. In the case of an identification number, information regarding its formal validity. I say formal because it may not exist even though it is valid. The program is not linked to any database of birth or identification numbers.

The program is in portable version. It is only 30 KB.

Functionality:

• primarily performs a check to see if the whole birth number is divisible by 11, this is generally taken as a condition for the validity of the birth number, however there is an exception
• it is counted with the exception from divisibility by 11, which was granted to about a thousand birth numbers issued before 1985, for these numbers occurred when the remainder after dividing a nine-digit number was equal to ten - zero was used as a check digit - and the whole birth number is then not divisible by 11, the assignment of such birth numbers was terminated in 1985 according to the internal regulation of the Federal Statistical Office No. Vk. 2898/1985
• of course, it indicates the sex of the bearer and the date of birth
• in addition, it checks the day-month double number so that it does not exceed its value, e.g. that the day is not 40 or the month is not 15, and at the same time that the year is not logically higher than the current one for ten-digit ones, or not higher than 1953 for nine-digit ones, since nine-digit birth numbers were assigned until 31 December 1953
• derives the century of the year, e.g. 2013 for 10-digit birth numbers and e.g. 1910 for 9-digit birth numbers, this principle will be valid until 2054
• under the law, when birth numbers are exhausted, it allows for the possibility of adding +20 for men and +70 for women to the month
• as a trifle, it then ascertains the leap year and the existence of February 29
