Document Manager is an electronic documentation manager (controlled documentation) with a three-layer architecture. This means that it works on the principle of (application client) - (application server) - (file and SQL server). Thanks to this architecture, it is possible to save maximum costs on the acquisition of the file and SQL server license, because:

• communication between the client and server is via a separate TCP link and does not use Microsoft Windows resource sharing (which is covered by Microsoft licenses).
• there is only one connection between the application server and the SQL server at all times during operation (regardless of the number of clients connected to the application server), so that the free MSDE (http://www.microsoft.com/sql/msde/downloads/download.asp) can be used as the SQL server. Since version 1.1, MS Access can be used instead of SQL Server !

Another indisputable advantage of this architecture is the possibility to run the system both over a local LAN and over the Internet !
The system has been designed to meet the stringent requirements for ISO 9001 certification in the area of corporate documentation management.

The program is not designed for document editing, therefore documentation can be managed without format restrictions. When a document editing request is made, the program calls the associated application.
