CwdStudio

CwdStudio is a program for the automatic creation of Swedish and classical crosswords and eight-letter puzzles and their publication.

In the development process, several years of experience gained during the life of Crosswords and Osmisměrky - ITPro CZ products were used, and above all, great attention was paid to the shortcomings suffered by these previous programs.

CwdStudio aims to become the best and most user-friendly crossword and octal program. Emphasis is placed on the quality of the crosswords and eight-question puzzles created, according to the criteria specified by the Czech Association of Riddlers and Crossword Puzzle Makers. Based on the specified size, layout of the boxes for the legend terms and the clue, the program is able to generate a Swedish or classical crossword puzzle and export it to an external format without any further necessary modifications. It is also possible to set the difficulty of the crossword. Moreover, thanks to the limited expression group restriction, you don't have to worry that the generated crossword will be full of foreign words or abbreviations. There is also a design assistant tool that uses graphical highlights to help you create a crossword design.

In addition to Swedish and classic crossword puzzles, the program also allows you to create octal puzzles. As with the crosswords, it is important to follow the binding rules. You only need to enter the desired size and shape of the figure eight and the automatic generator will take care of everything else. Thus, you can have a 50×50 octagon that meets all the rules ready in less than 2 minutes. It is also supported to enter a highlighted word. An interesting feature is the possibility of using a priority word list, which allows you to create thematically themed octal riddles.

All created crossword puzzles and octal puzzles can be exported directly from the program to several raster (PNG, GIF, JPG, BMP) and vector formats (PDF, SVG, EMF, WMF, EPS, PS). For further processing, export to CSV format or export to an interactive web page is also available, which directly allows puzzling.
