BabelMap is a character mapping application for Windows that allows you to browse the full range of Unicode characters. It has over 113,000 characters in its repertoire, or searches for a specific character by name or by code. The characters can then be copied to the clipboard for use in any Unicode-aware application. It also provides many useful features and special tools. BabelMap supports the latest version of the Unicode standard, currently Unicode 7.0 (released June 2014).
BabelMap includes the following tools, which can be accessed from the menu or by using the function keys:
Fonts Overview Utility: provides basic information about all listed TrueType and OpenType.
Font Analysis Utility: lists all Unicode blocks covered by a particular font or a list of all available fonts that cover a particular Unicode block.
Font Information Utility: provides information about the currently selected font.
Font Glyph Export Utility: export some or all glyphs from any font to a file in BMP, GIF, PNG or JPG formats (optionally specify which glyphs to export by loading the glyph export definition file ).
Font Coverage Utility: List all fonts that cover a specific character or all characters in the text on or all characters in the BabelMap edit buffer.
Advanced Lookup Utility: List all characters that meet the specified criteria.
UCD Data Utility: generates UCD-format data for a given range of characters for each Unicode version.
Character History Utility: lists the UCD properties for a given character for all Unicode versions, including mapping to Unicode 1.0.0 and 1.0.1 if necessary.
Han Radical Lookup Utility: lists all Han ideographs with respect to radical and stroke count (covers all 74617 characters in CJK, CJK-A, CJK-B, CJK-C and CJK-D blocks).
Mandarin Pinyin Lookup Utility: lists all Han ideographs with a given Mandarin pinyin pronunciation.
Cantonese Jyutping Lookup Utility: lists all Han ideographs with a given pronunciation of Cantonese jyutping.
Yi Radical Lookup Utility: lists all Yi syllables with a given radical and number of beats.
Unicode History Version Utility: provides an overview of the repertoire of every Unicode version since 1.0.
